Oracle Virtual Machines for Developers
Consider you want to develop some web applications today for your project. What are the list of softwares that need to be installed and configured to develop and run your Web Application ? The following components to be downloaded right ?
1] Netbeans or Eclipse IDE to develop the application
2] Subversion repository to save the code
3] Hudson CI Server to do the build process
4] Maven or Ant to perform build and management
5] Oracle Weblogic Server to deploy developed web applications
6] Oracle Coherence Server to cache objects
So you need to download and install everything fresh and next you need to integrate all this components together. That's very difficult right ? To simplify this process oracle have come up with the concept called pre-built developers virtual machines. This virtual machines includes all the components mentioned above in runnable form.
Pre-Built Developer VMs (for Oracle VM VirtualBox) are available now under the following link to download.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/databaseappdev-vm-161299.html
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/weblogic/downloads/weblogic-developer-vm-303434.html
Some of these VMs are :
1] Enterprise Java Development VM
2] Database App Development VM
It's very interesting and useful !! Just give a try !!
