How to Upgrade Weblogic Server ?

In this post we will see how to upgrade weblogic server from one version to another, for example 10.3.4.0 to 10.3.6.0.To know more about how to do it ,just keep on reading !!

It’s is a five step process.

1] Download Upgrade generic jar from oracle support site.

2] Copy that generic.jar to Local server Machine

3] Backup WEBLOGIC_HOME

4] Start the Upgrade(java -jar wls1036_upgrade_generic.jar)

5] Verify Upgrade

 

Download upgrade_generic file from support site:

Unzip the downloaded zip files which holds the upgrade_generic.jar file.

[thiru@localhost Upgrade]$ unzip p13529623_1036_Generic.zip

Once the extraction is completed, start the Upgrade activity and follow the steps below.

Verification of the Upgrade:

Verify the version of the weblogic server in Admin Console or use the following command for detailed versioned of each subcomponent in weblogic.
